Running today in your city

Your recyclables are worth real rewards in Pasay.

Sort what you'd normally throw away, bring it in to be weighed, and the kilos turn into points you can redeem for real goods. Here's the whole loop — and exactly where your neighbourhood stands right now.

Who is an Eco-Warrior?

Anyone who brings recyclables to a centre is an Eco-Warrior — a household, a student, a store, an office, a school, a whole institution. What brings them differs; the result doesn’t.

PersonalEarn Environmental Points and keep your own home cleaner.
ComplianceMeet RA 9003 segregation duties, or ESG and sustainability targets.
CSRA company’s corporate social responsibility in action — with real numbers to show for it.
CommunityDo your share for the barangay, the country, and the next street over.

Every kilo diverted is a kilo that isn’t burned, buried, or washed into a canal. Trash that clogs drains and waterways is a direct cause of flooding — so exchanging here is flood prevention too, for your street and your city. However you come to it, you’re helping the environment, the community, and the country.

Follow the loop. Every recyclable travels the same five steps. Each stop below shows what's running in Pasay today — and where a piece is still being built, we say so plainly.

And the loop turns again. Recycled material feeds back into what gets sorted next — the same story, one recyclable at a time.

Step 01

Segregate

It starts at home, at the office, at school. Separate what rots, what can be recycled, and what's just residual. Clean and dry is worth more — a mixed sack earns nothing.

A community collection day — households bring what they have already separated at home.
Know your three streams

Segregation isn't optional — it's the law. Republic Act 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, requires waste to be separated at source: at home, in the office, at school. Sorting it properly is also what turns a sack of trash into Environmental Points.

  • Nabubulok · biodegradable Food scraps, garden trimmings, soiled paper → becomes compost. Keep it out of the recyclables.
  • Nare-recycle · nabebenta Clean, dry PET bottles, aluminium & tin cans, paper, cartons, glass, rigid plastics. Earns EP at the exchange
  • Residual Sachets, diapers, contaminated packaging → for proper disposal, kept out of the recyclable stream.
Clean and dry earns more; a wet or mixed sack earns nothing. Only the recyclable stream is weighed for points — the cleaner you keep it, the more a kilo is worth.

Step 02

Exchange

Bring it to an exchange point — a centre, a barangay pop-up, or a partner site — where it is weighed in front of you.

Caps and clean plastics sorted by hand before they are weighed — cleaner streams pay more.

What we accept — and what a kilo earns

The point value per material comes straight from the programme's own table. These are the current top rates — cleaner, drier streams pay more.

Metal — aluminium cansthe top rate 20EP/kg
Plastic — PET, clear & clean (malinis) 10EP/kg
Paper — e.g. newspaper 3EP/kg
Glass & residualsaccepted for diversion, kept out of landfill 0EP/kg
1 EP = ₱1. Cleaner and drier pays more; the exact point value per material subtype comes straight from the programme's own table, and staff weigh every deposit in front of you.
Estimate what your recyclables earn

Pick a centre and add what you’ll bring — the estimate uses that centre’s own rate table. 1 EP = ₱1. Staff still weigh every deposit; this is a guide.

≈ 0 EP · ₱0
The weighing itself is not ours. EP is issued in BEST's system when staff weigh a deposit in front of the resident; the app tells a person what is accepted, what it pays, and where to go. Pasay's exchange points are still being confirmed — BEST has to sign off the roster.
Step 03 · what the network is built for

Redeem

The weight becomes Environmental Points on a bXTRA account — redeemable for real goods. In Pasay the Eco-Warrior app and the shop-invitation flow are live; the merchant, warehouse and rider consoles are the same software proven elsewhere in the network, and are not linked here until a Pasay-scoped instance exists.

Rather than send you into another city's data, they are not linked here until a Pasay-scoped instance — Pasay stores, a Pasay rider — is stood up.
Step 04

Collect

We consolidate what the community brought in and move it to the recyclers. Trained crew in PPE bag and load the sorted material, then the hauling fleet moves it on for consolidation.

Loading live unit positions…
Collect is a real operation, not a gap. My Basurero is the live hauling app; the programme reads its bookings and truck telemetry. Recyclables move from the community to the warehouse here — the other direction from a delivery.
Step 05

Recycle

It becomes new material again — and the kilo is documented, so the barangay, the city and the brand can all count it.

Staff in hard hats beside bales of recyclables and large PETValue bulk bags ready to move to a recycler
Baled and bagged at the warehouse, ready for a named recycler — documented before it leaves.
Consolidated at the Pasay (Malibay) warehouse. Reading the withdrawn volume… Pasay has no consolidation door of its own, so what its centres and pop-ups collect is withdrawn and consolidated to the Pasay (Malibay) warehouse, where every kilo is documented through the RTK chain (acceptance token → recyclable sale → warehouse OUT) before it heads to recyclers. Kilograms and pesos stay separate — a weight is never derived from a peso figure.
Where it actually goes

Recovery only counts if someone downstream turns it into something. Every documented batch leaves the warehouse to a named, verified recycler — not a landfill.

90.9% of everything collected is delivered onward to a verified recycling partner, every batch traceable.

Downstream off-takers also include Holcim Geocycle and Republic Cement for residuals unsuitable for material recovery. Recyclers are named for traceability; inclusion reflects the programme's documented material chain.
One loop, many partners.

Beyond the barangays, the same weigh-and-document chain plugs into private-sector take-back programmes that pay for specific materials brought back — Coca-Cola's Tapon to Ipon, Ajinomoto's SariCycle, and Otsuka-Solar's PocariCycle. A recyclable dropped at an exchange point can count toward a brand's recovery target and a resident's Environmental Points at once — measured once, documented once.
